Description
COLEN was tasked with this spectacular restoration of the Hoeve Blaret in Sint-Genoa-Rhodes and its conversion into a nursing home.
After stabilising and securing the building, we replaced – in phases – the entire floor structure in order to ensure the building’s stability.
Yet most of the work was done on the facade, dismantling and rebuilding masonry, replacing bricks, replacing Gobertange stone, consolidating and reinforcing existing stonework. We also replaced the whole roof including the beams and restored the facade rendering with traditional lime-based rendering.
This restoration was to highlight the work of our teams of craftsmen specialised in masonry, in the restoration of stonework, woodwork and facades, but also in roofing and guttering.
