The inauguration of the second and final phase of the Campus Comenius Brussel project in Koekelberg took place in the presence of Brussels ministers Sven Gatz and Elke Van den Brandt.
On Wednesday, 29 September, SOCATRA inaugurated, together with the Brussels-Capital Region Housing Fund – Woningfonds van het Brussels Hoofdstedelijk G and MACAN DEVELOPMENTS LIMITED, 76 passive house apartments and 4 single-family houses in the centre of the Town of Forest, within a former industrial zone experiencing a full revitalisation.
The inauguration took place in the presence of Nawal Ben Hamou (Secretary of State for the Brussels-Capital Region, in charge of Housing and Equal Opportunities), Mariam El Hamidine (Mayor of the Town of Forest f.f.), Lieve Lalemant-Scheerlinck (President of the Board of Directors of the Housing Fund) and Brigitte Meire-Hombergen (Vice-President of the Board of Directors of the Housing Fund).
The Housing Fund will thus enable home buyers to access property at a reasonable cost.
The “Les Saules” project, located between Boulevard de la Deuxième Armée Britannique and Rue du Patinage in the Town of Forest, consists of an initial block of 39 housing units located on the street side, a second block of 37 housing units in the interior of the block, as well as 4 single-family homes with 3 façades. The name of the project refers to the species of tree originally present on this former industrial site.
